Corrected text :
Introduction : This article is about a bicycle race in the city of Esher in Surrey. The people who organised the race didn't ask anybody's authorisation. The residents of this city are angry about the bicycle race which passes through Esher. They set up a petition to ban the bicycle race because lots of them can't leave their houses.
Written by Bastien GRIGNON.
First part : Ian Huggins is 68 years old. He is a resident of Esher, he started a petition because he was so fed up of being « kettled » by « Lycra louts » on bikes. Lycra is the nickname for a sportsman. And Esher is a city of Surrey in England. So Mister Huggins put forward a petition because he runs a clay pigeon shooting business, he said : he works very hard at weekends but there are roads who are closed because there is a cycle event. So his petition has been signed by nearly 1600 persons. This petition says that it’s a good idea to use Surrey as a « cycle track » but the residents of Esher are protesting because cyclists are practising months in advance of the event in this small country town! In fact it’s really amazing for the residents of Surrey because cyclists aren't very descreet so they shout at each other from early morning and it’s inconvenient for the people of Esher.
Written by Chloé BIGNON.
Second part : In fact, in the second part of the text the points of view are very different. Thanks to the cycling events, the spokeman of Surrey County Council got a huge amount of money. But he wants to limit the impact on Esher's residents and businesses, so that’s why he pays attention to their opinions. Furthemore Mr.Huggins thinks it is not just events such as the “tour of Britain” that angers residents but the hundreds and hundreds of cyclists coming down and thinking they are the next Bradley Wiggins. He thinks people in Surrey could be more understanding with cyclists. He says some cyclists are ill-mannered, they don’t respect the laws of the road. Conversely, Jason is laughing at the residents who are complaining : “Why can’t Surrey’s roads be used as a cycle track every now and then? You don’t see the residents of the Isle of Man complaining about the TT Races”. Cleevely Stuart, one the founders of Cranlegh Cicling Club has been shocked to hear about the petition, because he is trying to change the way of cycling. He also thinks that the drivers are nice and give him lots of place and he thinks that it is possible that because of closed roads there is frustration, but that’s only for some days in the year. Many opinions are conflicting but they will find a way to be on an equal footing.
Written by Colin BURON-MOUSSEAU.
Conclusion : We have a negative opinion of the petition of Mr. huggins. We believe that residents can make an effort of understanding and kindness to the cyclists. Besides the cyclists will make their next effort, such as decreasing the size of the training groups. Finally, all races are making money in the region of Surey more such preparation is harder than many day of the year I can't understand this last sentence.

Sorry it took so long to write back! I read through the article briefly and coming from a small town perspective, it would be hard to cope with a massive event like this cycling race. Having thousands of people over taking our meager streets and trashing our town would be a little frustrating. But, on a good note, it would produce some very good income for businesses.
Our neighboring town, Omak, has a major event every year called the Stampede. People from all over the world come to see horses and riders rush down a massive hill, plunge into a river, swim across and run into an arena on the other side. This event isn’t near as consuming as the cycling race, but it does fill up the RV parks and hotels over in Omak.
There’s so much to talk about here, I’m not really sure where to start. Ask me some questions so I can answer them!

Thank you for your answer Brooklyn Bauer !
I understand your story, it was interesting because we know that Surrey is not the only one where there is "problem".
It's a topic where there so much talk about there, you are right, because there are positive and negative side. It's to bad for the habitant of the cities who organize the event because there are much people from all over the worldso hotels or restaurants are complete. Whereas in other side, it's a really buisinesses for the cities who organize that, and i think is a chance to see Famous Mountain biker in our city !
I think we don't have the same problem in France, because for example, there is "tour de france" it's a big event each year in july. And each city in France want to see the Mountain biker, so each city don't have problem with that, I'm not sure but I think it's the reality.

When you said "there are much people from all over the world so hotels or restaurants are complete." did you mean that there are so many people from all over the world that want to see the races that hotels and restaurants are completely full?
What do you mean by the habitat of the city?
Brooklyn Bauer
no of course! not all the hotels and restaurants are completely full but it's really better when a cycling race came in a city because they can make a lot of money.
It's not the "habitat of the city" but i would like to say citizen of town or inhabitant

Thank you Colin for your answer to Brooklyn Bauer ;)
Yes, it's not "habitat of the city" but citizen of the cities.
Many people want to see the event in their city to take photos or because they love this sport ! And the cities enjoy that because they can win lot of money of course !
Chloé Bignon
Oh that makes way more sense. Thanks for the clarification :)
So, you're saying that these kind of events don't have very many negative impacts on the community surrounding it? Because it does sound like a good way of income, but do you think there might be some problems?
Brooklyn Bauer :)
I understand that these events can be disturbing for the population or place the races but I think (at least this is what happens in France during the Tour de France) as different location or pass the races are glad to see happen before, during and after the races the tourist from visiting the place where the race goes. In France when the step is complete it all remains the same for tourists is that bring economic fall. Are this the case for this race?
written by Antoine Gaborit.
You're welcome !
Yes, but i think there are not many problems for the event like this.
The only problem could be the organisation of the cities, to distribute different roles, for them to don't be jealous.
Chloé Bignon :)
Thank you very much Brooklyn Bauer for all answers.
Except you, nobody is interrested about cycle track? :(
we will exchange project with you!!
